 We all know someone like Lina, our co-workers, friends and families. Maybe even ourselves. I know far too many people whose lives have been touched (or should I say sledge hammered) by cancer. I’m sure you know them too. That’s where “Lina’s Light” comes in. We have joined the American Cancer Society Relay For Life to raise money to battle this disease, support those facing cancer, and educate society about cancer and its prevention. Relay is an overnight event that unites our community in a common effort to raise much-needed funds for cancer research, education, advocacy, and patient services. Last year was our community’s third year to participate in Relay, and we raised over $80,000. This year, we have set our North Central San Antonio goal at $100,000. Every year, the funds we raise help bring the American Cancer Society one step closer to eliminating cancer from our lives for good, but we can’t stop now. Because there’s no finish line until there’s a cure. |
